On September 30, INMA awarded 30 young professionals around the world with its second class of “30 Under 30” award as part of its Young Professionals Initiative. This is the sixth in a series of 30 features about these impressive rising media stars who are shaping our industry.
As the lead for programmatic partnerships for two years at Kompas, Afrian is proud of his work on the company’s brand safety tool, which measures brand safety rating while also blocking ads to avoid a mismatch between the ads and the content.
As a national news publisher, maintaining the neutrality of the news is important, as is balancing out the needs of advertising customers. This is Afrian’s jam.
“It’s very challenging, especially during the pandemic. But with a data approach, analytics, and solid teamwork, we closed 2020 with a bit of growth. And now, we have growth higher than the industry, even during the pandemic in Indonesia.”
With the team’s strong data approach, the company has increased the value of its CPM almost 50% year-on-year: “The media industry should focus more on giving sustainability for the brain/advertiser, transparency, and more mature technology.”
