Tracking Success: A Demo of Politiken’s Data Insights Dashboard
Presented by Troels Behrendt Jørgensen, digital director, and Mikkel Stampe Davidsen, developer/data scientist/analyst, Politiken
About this Webinar
How Politiken is measuring newsroom success with their data insights dashboard is the focus of an INMA Newsroom Transformation Initiative Webinar featuring Troels Behrendt Jørgensen, digital director, and Mikkel Stampe Davidsen, developer/data scientist/analyst at Politiken in Copenhagen.
Troels presented the dashboard during INMA’s Newsroom Transformation Town Hall in December, and participants asked for a deeper dive into the tool and how it works. By popular demand, this is that opportunity! This Webinar will be a hands-on demonstration of an analytics tool that allows Politiken’s newsroom to track success in real-time.
Politiken's sophisticated data insights suite for its newsroom combines seven different KPIs and displays them in real-time as one overarching KPI labelled "engagement.”
Each article is scored from 0-6. The KPIs are weighted by importance, with analytics like reading time, number of conversions, and how many visitors holding more weight than secondary factors like pageviews. Scoring is meant to easily show journalists what is performing well and what might need to be tweaked.
Troels and Mikkel will do a hands-on demo of the tool and talk about how it has evolved, what works well, and what still needs improvement. They’ll offer advice to newsrooms of all sizes on how to introduce tools and KPIs.
This Webinar is less presentation and more demonstration, so come equipped with questions and a desire to get involved. The Webinar will be moderated by Amalie Nash, INMA’s Newsroom Transformation Initiative Lead.
