How to Use Newsletters Effectively to Grow Audience, Loyalty
Presented by Katrice Hardy, executive editor, Dallas Morning News; and David Topping, Director, Newsletters, Torstar
About this Webinar
Developing a strong newsletter strategy to build more direct relationships with your readers is the focus of this INMA Newsroom Transformation Initiative Webinar.
More media companies are turning to newsletters as an increasingly important tool for engaging readers at a time when search and social referrals are declining. Newsletters have the potential to bring readers back more frequently and to convert casual readers into digital subscribers.
Both The Dallas Morning News in the United States and Toronto Star in Canada are effectively using newsletters to reach and engage audiences. In particular, they’re finding that breaking news newsletters are leading to success and return frequency. The decline of Twitter and overall media fragmentation have left a void that these newsletters fill.
Katrice Hardy, executive editor of The Dallas Morning News, and David Topping, director of newsletters for Torstar, will talk about their strategies and offer advice to other media companies.
The Webinar will be moderated by Amalie Nash, INMA's INMA Newsroom Transformation Initiative lead.
