Overview of this campaign

With the new live broadcast format, we also want to position ourselves in the area of video reporting and as a competitor to local TV. To this end, we are leveraging the already impressive reach of the online news portal VOL.AT as well as VN.AT and the regional TV station Ländle TV.

Within just one day, the new concept was implemented in November 2020. For this purpose, we use on the one hand our live studio, which was mainly used for streaming events during the Corona crisis. In addition, we bundle competencies from different areas of the Russmedia media house: Through the cooperation of VOL.AT (online), Vorarlberger Nachrichten (print) and Ländle TV (television). In this way, we produce daily news, tailored to the Vorarlberg region and the interests of our users.


The concept:

Vorarlberg Live runs daily at 5 p.m. on VOL.AT, VN.AT and Ländle TV. The live broadcast focuses on current topics that move Vorarlberg. From Monday to Friday, new interview partners answer questions on various hot topics every day. Each edition features exciting guests, whether representatives from business, culture, society, sports and politics or technical experts.

We either invite the guests to our media center or connect them live via video conference.

Results for this campaign

A regular guest, for example, is Governor Markus Wallner, who talks about current events in the state of Vorarlberg. Austria's Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has also been a guest on the show. We have also talked to him about current topics, specifically broken down to the Vorarlberg region. This gives the show great importance for local news reporting.

Since the first broadcast in November 2020, we have been able to achieve a total of over 265,000 views via VOL.AT and over 36,000 views via social media. Within just two months, we were able to achieve an audience of around 34,000 per broadcast. This puts us in 4th place among news programs in Vorarlberg. Only the national TV formats ZIB1 and ZIB2 and the regional format Vorarlberg Heute of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) achieve more viewers per broadcast.

The total watch time of Vorarlberg Live is currently over 26,854 hours. The most successful broadcast to date from 07.01.2021 alone was viewed over 83,000 times. The figures also show that Vorarlberg Live hits exactly the middle of society. The average age in Vorarlberg is 44, and the average Vorarlberg Live viewer is 48.

Due to the positive response and the convincing figures, we will install the TV studio, which was originally intended as a commission, permanently in the company (Russmedia) and will continue to place a strong focus on video content and live reporting as well as talk shows.
