Jumpstarter aims to give young dreamers in Hong Kong’s startup scene a jumpstart opportunity with a series of pitching events and to build, empower and boost Hong Kong’s startup community, and transform Hong Kong into a leading hub for global innovation and technology.
SCMP Marketing Solution helps to organize 8 semi-pitch events and Grand Finale that provide an open and fair stage for startup to pitch for funding and facilitate startups to create business opportunities with investors.
AEF’s idea for the event programme could clearly be implemented by SCMP Marketing Solutions clearly implemented AEF’s idea for the event programme, including a clear action plan that reflects all areas of the scope of work for the event execution. For instance, the hottest startups in Hong Kong were set up for public to experience the VR entertainment and newest technology devices. To inspire audiences, SCMP Marketing Solutions developed all the insightful topics for all speeches and panel discussions which were moderated by South China Morning Post's editors. To enhance public engagement, audiences were offered an opportunity to vote for their favourite startup teams in the pitching events.
With the aim of transforming Hong Kong into a leading hub for innovation and technology, South China Morning Post created a series of useful and informative online content on hot topics, trend of Start-up, news of popular industries such as Fintech, Robotics, Big data, AI and wearables to educate and raise mass public's interests towards the field. These contents helped to sustain the no. of visitors of the Campaign website and also engage extensive target audiences not just in Hong Kong but globally.
Results for this campaign
Throughout the 6-month Campaign period, Jumpstarter received over 600 applications from more than 10 startup industries: FinTech, Robotics, Wearables/IoT/EduTech, Healthy Ageing, Sensors & Advanced Materials, E-Commerce, Smart City and Big Data/AI.
In the 8 semi-round pitching and 1 Grand Finale event, over 2,600 attendees were engaged by the insightful and exciting programs, where 1,770 were from the ticketing finale event. Promoted by SCMP printed and eDM, all tickets were sold in 6 weeks.
Jumpstarter also provided business matching opportunities for startups and VCs in the Grand Finale event. 154 cases were successfully lined-up within 3 hours.
