Oahu Publications, Inc. (OPI) created a stand-alone advertising agency called Oahu Media Group (OMG) as a new profit center to enable the national award-winning daily newspaper – the Honolulu Star-Advertiser – as well as other OPI publications to grow.

OMG is a full-service advertising, marketing and promotions firm. OMG leverages all of the Star-Advertiser’s marketing, creative, production and media resources to provide clients across the state with complete results-driven services and effective communications, appearing across Hawaii’s newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and online media.

OMG services include research, marketing, creative production, media buying, direct mail, promotions and more. OMG not only provides advertising services to print clients but also manages non-OPI-related television, radio, outdoor and digital media, as well as collateral production. Servicing businesses and organizations of all sizes, the firm now serves 14 clients including the Hawaii divisions of CVS Pharmacy and The Howard Hughes Corporation, a leader in Hawaii real-estate development.

Results for this campaign

OMG worked closely with the Howard Hughes Corporation Residential Marketing Team to execute out of the Box Print and Digital campaigns. The multi-media campaigns were tightly tracked and generated highly qualified local and international prospects for Howard Hughes Residential products.

Another notable OMG effort was the launch of an unprecedented statewide voter registration campaign for Na‘i Aupuni, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Native Hawaiian self-determination. Thanks to the efforts by OMG, Native Hawaiians now have the first chance to determine their own destiny since the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1893.

Only in its second year, OMG has acquired accounts from both Hawaii and national agencies, achieving 36 percent revenue growth, reflecting $2 million in company revenue.
