Intense pictures, News and pointed commentaries : The new F.A.Z. – App „Der Tag“ is the essence of the past 24 hours. It is updated 24/7 by the high quality editorial team of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, one of the leading german national newspapers.
The goal for the App was to adopt the print brand strengths of news selection, commentaries and guidance to a unique smartphone experience. To maximize the guidance in combination with an ease usage the App comes from without a classic channel navigation. The structure is simple and smart: 4 Top-News then three main editorial commentaries followed by all news which create the current news day from an F.A.Z. angle.
The cont-elements are: text, picture galleries, videos and commentaries. some special articles, e.g. about elections, contain of rich media html formats.
F.A.Z. DerTag is available in the iOS Apple AppStore and in the Google Play Store. It is 100% designed for a smartphone usage. Technically the iOS version presents features like 3D push (iOS 9 feature) and an Apple Watch widget. For Samsung the App is optimized for Samsung S6edge where the article bar is on the device edge placed.
The App is the perfect combination of a reduced and focused design and the high quality content.

The results since the launch at the 16th July 2015 are spectacular:
