About Dublin

In Dublin, capital of Ireland and its largest city, history and modern innovation blend seamlessly. Shaped by its proximity to the sea, Dublin’s vibrant energy is matched by its rich cultural heritage and lively atmosphere. While not quite the westernmost capital in Europe (that title belongs to Reykjavik), Dublin is the key gateway between the old continent and the United States, making it a significant hub for global media and technology.

While often associated with its literary history and famous landmarks, Dublin’s thriving media scene is equally noteworthy. Home to cutting-edge companies at the forefront of digital transformation, Ireland’s media industry is an exciting space for innovation. For INMA’s 2025 Media Innovation Week, we’ll visit some of those driving this transformation, including Independent News & Media, RTÉ, and The Irish Times. A dive into INMA’s Best Practices Archive reveals how Irish media continues to push boundaries, particularly in digital advertising, e-commerce, and newsroom development.

Dublin, and Ireland as a whole, consistently ranks highly in global indices for quality of life, business innovation, and press freedom. As a European tech hub, the city is also home to the headquarters of some of the world’s largest digital companies, making it the perfect setting for media professionals to explore the intersection of media and technology. If that’s not enough to tempt you to join INMA in Dublin in September 2025, consider these facts:

  • Ireland ranks third in the EU for digital economy integration (European Commission Digital Economy and Society Index, 2023)
  • Dublin is one of the fastest-growing tech cities in Europe, with one of the highest concentrations of tech talent outside of Silicon Valley, in Europe. (TechIreland, 2023)
  • Ireland has one of the youngest populations in Europe, with over 40% of its population under 30, fueling its dynamic workforce (CSO, 2023)

And, of course, no visit to Dublin is complete without experiencing the city’s famous hospitality — best enjoyed over a pint of the city’s own black gold, Guinness.
