A note from Greg Piechota
I have been curating INMA Media Subscriptions Summits from the first one in 2018 in London. We met in Stockholm in 2019, New York in 2020, and on Zoom in the past two years.
We are meeting after three years of unprecedented growth in digital subscriptions. During the COVID pandemic, audiences turned to quality journalism. Many publishers found the product-market fit, and the right mix of technology, processes, and talent in order to scale.
This is a time of uncertainty. Many publishers see the attention recession, slowdown in the economy, people worried about rising prices and inflation. We need to reconvene, rethink, regroup.
In 2023, we are returning to Scandinavia where the news subscriptions markers are the most mature in the world, so we can see the future of this product lifecycle.
While the world’s subscriptions rankings are led by the U.S. brands — such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post — the leading European brands found the keys to scaling up, too. Just look at the stellar growth of The Financial Times or The Guardian in the United Kingdom, Le Monde in France, or Corriere della Sera in Italy.
I design this Summit’s programming to showcase the world leaders’ winning strategies but also innovative ideas from groups and smaller, regional brands, so you can benchmark and inquire.
I plan keynotes from the top executives, academics and experts to inspire you, and practical workshops that will give you tools you can use right after the summit.
Last but not least, we are planning plenty of social events and networking opportunities.
If you are new in news subscription business, this event will be your guide around the industry’s best practices and greatest minds.
And if you are a veteran, come to reconnect with your peers, and rebuild your subscription network after three years of Zooms.
I look forward to welcoming you to Stockholm ... and welcoming you (back) to INMA!
INMA Media Subscriptions Summit is the news media industry's largest annual conference focused on subscription growth. In March 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden, we will meet for the sixth time.
The summit has three parts: a two-day leaders’ conference, one full day of practical workshops and an optional executive study tour.
We expect 300+ media professionals. Most of our participants are marketing, product, data and editorial executives, managers and senior specialists working in the reader revenue space.
We invite 40+ speakers on our stages – from the media industry pioneers to leaders and innovators, from academic researchers to consumer marketing experts and thought leaders.
