GNI Subscriptions Lab Europe 2021 results

The fundamentals of reader revenue strategy and the best-performing digital subscription tactics by news media companies is the focus of a free, INMA-hosted Town Hall based on the learnings of the 2021 Google News Initiative Subscriptions Lab Europe.

Eight news publishers from across Europe participated in this joint programme of the Google News Initiative, FT Strategies, and the International News Media Association (INMA).

They worked together this year on defining ambitious visions for their digital subscription business and building the engine that will take them to their goals.

What the Town Hall will cover

At this Media Subscriptions Town Hall, we will distill the learnings of the Lab and showcase the outcomes of the publishers’ experiments, with guest experts ranging from the Lab consultants to participants. We will discuss the fundamentals of reader revenue strategy and the best-performing tactics for news media companies:

  • How to define the company’s strategy using the Financial Times’ North Star methodology?
  • How to foster a reader-centric culture across the organisation?
  • How to increase digital subscriptions revenue and growth rate?
