The time-friendly (and fun) Ideas Day concept by INMA involves:
“I arrived in Helsinki for INMA's Ideas Day with a head full of
questions and left with a plethora of ideas and a greater understanding
of the opportunities that exist in our industry. It was very exciting to
me, as a digital journalist, to see what is being achieved in newsrooms
to drive audiences, extend engagement, innovate in storytelling, and
— yes — make money. I made a lot of new contacts and got
to hear about smart, real world ideas that are making a difference in
newsrooms right now. All in all, an excellent day.”
Alison Gow, Digital Innovation Editor, Trinity Mirror, United Kingdom
“I had a great time in Helsinki (2015) at the Ideas Day on Editorial & Newsroom
Innovations. I got a lot of input for my own ideas concerning our HNA brand in Kassel.
Thanks for the organization, It was perfect. And I would really like to join the next
Ideas Day in 2016.”
Horst Seidenfaden, Chefredakteur, Verlag Dierichs, Germany
“A congress feels to me to be worth the effort when it generates
five truly interesting ideas that I can go and work with. During INMA'ss
Ideas Day about a dozen emerged. More importantly: I knew that video would
come to play an increasingly important role. Yet, we are still somewhat
in the dark about its exact function and relevance for us as quality daily. I
deas Day presented me with interesting arguments and perspectives through
very specific cases. The 7-minute presentation format is truly wonderful.
It gave rise to ideas of all sorts."
Karel Verhoeven, Editor-in-Chief, De Standaard, Belgium
“I am pleased to recommend INMA's Ideas Days as a very effective
learning and networking experience for Irish Times staff. The Ideas Days
offer a broad exposure to a range of projects that are of immediate relevance
to attendees and of strategic interest to our industry. The format is
tightly focused whilst also allowing people to network and share
learnings with their peers from other countries. The locations
are easily accessible.”
Liam Kavanagh, Managing Director, The Irish Times, Ireland
