INMA Webinar: Aftenposten’s Battle with Facebook
Event description
In September, Facebook prevented Norway’s leading newspaper from posting an iconic photo from the Vietnam War as, by algorithmic standards, it was “child pornography.” Aftenposten pushed back – so loudly that Facebook quickly changed its standards. The episode became the defining microcosm of the broader battle media companies are having with Facebook, gaining unprecedented international attention.
On Thursday, December 15, the CEO and editor-in-chief of Aftenposten who led the campaign against Facebook, Espen Egil Hansen, will join INMA in a special Webinar looking at lessons learned from the episode and what media companies should be doing to push back.
The live, interactive Webinar will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. New York time (4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Oslo time) and is free to INMA members. You must be an INMA member to participate.
