FT Digital Media & Broadcasting Conference

Event description

The emphasis at the thought-provoking FT Digital Media & Broadcasting Conference in London was squarely levelled at two things: tablet devices and social media — with perhaps a soupçon of grumbling about Apple and Google "skimming" 30% off any sales through their apps stores.

But the event began with Mark Thompson, director general of the BBC, outlining how predictions about user-generated content and time-shifted TV viewing had not come to pass, while new devices, social media and "event" television are very much still the order of the day.

INMA takes you inside the FT Digital Media & Broadcasting Conference with our correspondent, Paul Skeldon.
