BBuilding on INMA's industry leadership position in the emerging mobile and tablet space, the association is pleased to announce the launch of the “Mobile and Tablets for Newsmedia Blog.”
As news increasingly goes mobile, the new INMA blog's mission is to be the worldwide reference guide to:
- Growing and engaging news audiences via mobile devices and tablets.
- Attracting mobile revenue via advertising, sponsorship, and subscriptions.
- Owning the market for mobile news.
The INMA initiative marks the first newsmedia industry blog dedicated exclusively to covering the mobile/tablet space.
Challinor currently is in charge of all mobile strategy and development with Telegraph Media Group, which publishes the United Kingdom's leading quality newspaper. Challinor brings a rich background to his mobile responsibilities, including being a member at the U.K. Committee of Advertising Practice panel, the former managing director of g8wave/Buzz Mobile Marketing, and senior commercial roles at leading U.K. publishers Associated Newspapers and Trinity Mirror. He is a member of the INMA Board of Directors and a past president of INMA's Europe Division.
In his current position with PHD Mobi, Mira is developing mobile strategies and audience- and revenue-generating solutions for companies worldwide. Mira is a former senior marketing executive with Folha de S.Paulo in Brazil and The Miami Herald in the United States who previously worked with Nestlé, The Walt Disney Company, Sony, and MTV Music Television. He is a past member of the INMA Board of Directors and a past president of INMA's Latin America Division.
The blog launch comes on the heels of INMA launching a report and two events dedicated to helping guide publishers in the mobile and tablet landscapes. Tablet Opportunities for News Publishers was launched January 27, while a monetizing mobile seminar is slated February 14 in Chicago and an Apple-inspired tablet subscriptions roundtable is set February 17 in London.
