Russmedia’s Ländlepunkte reader loyalty programme moves into regional retail space

Russmedia’s VOL.AT has entered into an unusual partnership with the regional grocery chain Sutterlüty, giving additional rewards just for shopping. For every purchase made at Sutterlüty’s Ländlemarkt, customers are also rewarded with VOL.AT points called Ländlepunkte.

The innovative combination of the Sutterlüty - Mein Ländlemarkt and the Vorarlberg news portal VOL.AT has allowed the company to break new ground. Until this initiative, Ländlepunkte was earned when readers shared articles, wrote comments, used the app, or participated in challenges that let them pass through different levels.

As part of this gamification approach to the news, VOL.AT has been able to increase loyalty among readers. They enjoy collecting points, and the reward shop lets them redeem those points for non-cash prizes, wellness vouchers, or concert tickets.  It uses the innovative and internationally recognized loyalty project (engage.me) of Russmedia Digital GmbH, but the partnership with Sutterlüty means this platform is now also reaching regional retailers.

QR code on every receipt

Every Sutterlüty cash register receipt now contains a QR code or link to credit the Ländlepunkte to the users account. When they scan the QR code, they are automatically redirected to the VOL.AT Ländlepunkte shop. The Ländlepunkte they’ve collected can be exchanged in the VOL.AT Rewards Shop for rewards and immediate prizes, or they can participate in exclusive competitions.

The marketing team at Sutterlüty said the new cooperation with VOL.AT represents an exciting way to reach customers.

We are offering our customers the added benefit of collecting the popular VOL.AT Ländlepunkte with every purchase in one of the 25 Sutterlüty supermarkets, in addition to the Sutterlüty advantage points, explained Carolin Dobler, Sutterlüty marketing manager.

In this way, the comfortable and easy collection of VOL.AT Ländlepunkte can be combined with the usefulness of shopping at Sutterlüty. With additional VOL.AT Ländlepunkte, every customer can redeem their points for great rewards at VOL.AT at the end of the day, while having also done their daily shopping at the world champion for regional foods.

This partnership represents a significant step forward. Bringing the Ländlepunkte into the Vorarlberg retail market, together with Sutterlüty, is a very important step and a great opportunity for us.

The largest loyalty club in Vorarlberg will become deeply rooted in the daily life of the people of Vorarlberg and will reward not only the use of VOL.AT, but also the daily purchase of special regional products at Sutterlüty supermarkets throughout Vorarlberg.

VOL.AT readers are automatically rewarded for their loyalty. Once on the VOL.AT portal, they click on the Ländlepunkt on the right-hand side of the upper yellow menu bar, then log-in or register to start benefiting from their collected Ländlepunkte. Since the first quarter of 2020, it has also been possible to order a subscription for VN.AT - Vorarlberger Nachrichten with Ländlepunkte.
