La Voz learns from others’ mistakes with subscription revenue model

Tomás García Morán, chief digital officer at La Voz de Galicia, spoke at the INMA Media Subscriptions Summit in London about what he learned from the INMA study tour and planned to take back to his company. Because La Voz does not currently have a revenue model, Morán said that aspect was of interest to him.

“It’s not common in Spain at all,” Morán said of subscription revenue models. “Most of the people on this tour, they do have a model and are trying to make it better. We don’t have it, so everything is new for me.”

Morán acknowledged that La Voz was late to the revenue model game: “We should have been doing this a long time ago. From the other point of view, I think it’s very interesting because we will try not to make the same mistakes as the others have made.”
