With a background in animation, Angsuman Bhattacharyya built his career in UX design for the information technology and services industry. That foundation equipped him with foundational skills such as requirement gathering, competitive analysis, and designing business logic — all of which have proven to be valuable tools as he moved into the news media industry.

Today, as product manager for ABP Group in Kolkata, his skills have been used to help design a successful niche B2C media and lifestyle application. He has been lauded for his insight and contributions to the product team.

Relying upon his UX design capabilities, Angsuman said he is “actively working on designing and redesigning products based on data and business requirements to improve user experience.”

His contributions have other benefits as well. He is looking at what innovative methods can be implemented to boost the number of subscriptions for the company as well as managing and addressing customer feedback and payment-related issues. Both of those tie into another initiative he works on, which is to implement strategies for retaining existing customer subscriptions.

As an Elevate Scholar, Angsuman said he is most eager to learn digital subscription acquisition and retention methods, how to use data analytics to improve existing digital products, and explore new methods for implementing innovation.
