INMA 30 Under 30: Teodora (Teddy) Tepavicharova of Condé Nast

In September, INMA awarded 30 young professionals around the world with its fifth “30 Under 30” award as part of its Young Professionals Initiative. This is the seventh in a series of 30 features about the impressive rising media stars who are shaping our industry.

Teodora (Teddy) Tepavicharova wasn’t about to let a little thing like a global pandemic thwart her career plans. When the pandemic sidelined her digital marketing career plans — not once, but three times — she simply chose to transition into the media industry and quickly found her stride.
Now, as the director of programmatic strategy (UK) at Condé Nast, she oversees brands such as Vogue, Tatler, CN Traveller, GQ, Wired, World of Interiors, House & Garden, and Glamour.
Her innovative approach and strategic vision have significantly improved the commercial side of the business, contributing to the company’s digital revenue growth. In fact, Teddy’s efforts delivered a 62% YoY increase in programmatic revenue for 2023, 88% of which came from new clients.
As part of her position, she also serves as an internal and external strategic consultant, educating clients and agencies on programmatic capabilities and best practices, and heads the newly created Western European Programmatic Centre.
One of Teddy’s notable initiatives at Condé Nast was pushing for programmatic sustainability efforts, achieving a dramatic reduction in CO2 emissions. This initiative not only increased revenue but also positioned Condé Nast as a top UK partner for sustainable programmatic solutions.
Her practices were subsequently implemented in the company’s Western European markets as a means to increase its sustainability efforts and, for the first time, Condé Nast is incorporating sustainability as part of its digital advertising strategy.
In addition to her daily work with Condé Nast, Teddy is active in supporting the news media industry and has become a respected industry speaker, awards judge, and guest lecturer at Bournemouth University. Her contributions to the industry have been recognised with numerous awards, including the BIMA 100, The Future 100 Club, and the World Media Awards Rising Star. She has also received citizenship and leadership awards for initiating projects and supporting local and national charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, The Salvation Army, and Alzheimer’s Society.
Teddy’s passion for innovation and sustainability, her strategic acumen, and her ability to drive results, support her team, and mentor the next generation of media professionals underscores her potential as a future leader in the industry and her determination to realise that aspiration.
