Overview of this campaign

FUTURE WEEK transforms reporting into participation: Its own event formats, such as round tables and digital dinners, invite readers to join in the discussion, promote genuine dialogue, and turn the audience into active co-creators of future topics. This creates a strong emotional connection and a shared narrative for the future that goes far beyond mere consumption.

Cross-media engagement throughout the entire user journey
Content is consistently extended across print, online, social media, and live events. Readers encounter topics multiple times, in different usage situations and with new opportunities for interaction – from the initial impulse to in-depth discussion. This significantly increases dwell time, return rates, and sustained engagement beyond the event week.

Activation of new, previously underrepresented target groups
Through the targeted distribution of FUTURE WEEK MAGAZINE at universities and public locations, the project opens up new touchpoints to young, urban, and digitally savvy readers. FUTURE WEEK lowers barriers to access, creates relevance in the everyday lives of these target groups, and actively engages them with journalistic formats of the future for the first time.

Strong presence as an invitation to participate
High visibility in urban spaces serves not only as a marketing measure, but also as a low-threshold invitation to participate. Outdoor advertising and Citylight campaigns bring FUTURE WEEK to life, generate curiosity, and guide people to editorial content, events, and dialogue formats.

Print as an engagement driver in the media mix
Print is deliberately used as a high-quality entry point into the FUTURE WEEK ecosystem. The magazine combines journalistic depth with clear links to digital offerings and events. This makes print an active engagement tool – measurable, dialogue-oriented, and sustainable.

Results for this campaign

FUTURE WEEK AUGSBURG demonstrates how a regional media brand can turn reach into meaningful reader engagement. The initiative generated more than 2.5 million print and digital contacts, but its true success lies in the depth of interaction: 50,000 people actively engaged with FUTURE WEEK content across channels, and around 6,000 participants took part in live events. By combining journalism with dialogue-driven formats, FUTURE WEEK moved audiences from passive consumption to active participation. The project proves that cross-media storytelling, when designed around community involvement, can create measurable engagement, strong emotional connection, and lasting relevance for local journalism.
