Overview of this campaign

  • Increase the accessibility of our articles: Offering articles in audio format allows users to listen to news while doing other activities, such as commuting, exercising or doing chores.
  • Improved engagement: Listening to news articles rather than reading them can lead to a more immersive and engaging experience for users. Linking the voice to the article author also creates a closer bond between brand and user.
  • Strengthening the image of our audio products: Podcasts are an integral part of our brand. By firmly integrating audio into our daily range of articles, we strengthen our entire audio offering.
  • Subscriptions through audio articles: non-Plus subscribers can listen to the first X seconds of the text in the teaser view, after which the feature is advertised as a Plus promise.
  • Advertising/advertising feeds: As with our podcasts, the automatic audio articles could also be supplemented with short advertising blocks (especially for non-Plus texts).

Results for this campaign

We have professionally cloned the voices of over a dozen editors by the time the project launches in December 2023. In the first two weeks of the project, around five projects of all users have already used the new audio function.
