INMA/OPA Europe Conference
The city of Krakow, Poland, to host the European Newsmedia Conference by INMA and OPA Europe from September 29 to October 1, 2010.
Over the course of this prestigious three-day event, hundreds of newsmedia professionals from all over Europe will gather in Krakow to take part in a range of networking, lectures, debates and workshops about the latest media trends and the challenges. Keynote presentations will be followed by thought-provoking roundtable discussions that will involve the audience and stimulate networking. This conference is all about sharing ideas and inspiring change! It will be a unique experience because it will offer surprise, debate, drama, engagement, memories, and excitement! The conference will take place on Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday, we will have three pre-conference seminars: Local Newspaper Seminar, Research Seminar and Free Newspapers Seminar. The Krakow conference is designed for high-level executives – chief editors, chief executives, chief marketing officers and chief digital officers – across the spectrum of newsmedia companies from both Western and Eastern European countries. “For the first time, INMA has chosen a new EU member country for its main annual conference. We believe that Poland, with its unique economic strength in these turmoil times in the European Union and a vibrant newsmedia industry, is the perfect choice to host the conference about innovation and transformation strategies in print, online, and mobile”, said Inge Van Gaal, European coordinator of INMA. “Krakow is recognised throughout the world as an authentic and charming historical city and as one of Europe's official cultural capitals,” Van Gaal said. “However, it is still to be discovered as the dream place for educational and business meetings like our conference. Krakow has a great location between the West and the East, traveling to this city has become easy and affordable with many direct flights, and its convention facilities have met international quality standards.” The city's successful bid to host the INMA/OPA Europe conference was led by the Convention Bureau of the Municipality of Krakow and was supported by the Mayor, the Marshall of Malopolska Region, and the chief editors of newsmedia headquartered in Krakow: Dziennik Polski, Gazeta Krakowska, Gazeta Wyborcza Krakow, Interia.pl and RMF FM. INMA and OPA Europe have chosen Krakow as the venue for this experience – a high-value, low-cost choice:
