Due to the success of the conference in Liverpool two leading associations are joining forces again to present a unique conference experience focussed on the future of newspaper and online publishing. Keynote speakers will be followed by brainsnack sessions* and new networking opportunities. This conference is all about sharing ideas and inspiring change. It will offer surprise, debate, drama, memories and excitement! It will engage everyone.

INMA (the International Newsmedia Marketing Association) and OPA Europe have chosen the city of Kraków, Poland, to host its European Newsmedia Conference from September 29 to October 1, 2010.

Over the course of this prestigious three-day event, hundreds of newsmedia professionals from all over Europe will gather in Kraków to take part in a range of networking, lectures, debates and workshops about the latest media trends and the challenges. The conference itself will take place on Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday we will have 3 pre-conference seminars: Local Newspaper Seminar, Research Seminar and Free Newspapers Seminar.

The Kraków conference is designed for newsmedia middle-management executives - marketing managers, advertising executives, circulation managers, online executives, etc - across the spectrum of newsmedia companies from both Western and Eastern European countries.

"For the first time, INMA has chosen a new EU member country for its main annual conference. We believe that Poland, with its unique economic strength in these turmoil times in the European Union and a vibrant newsmedia industry, is the perfect choice to host the conference about innovation and transformation strategies in print, online, and mobile”, said Inge Van Gaal, European Coordinator of INMA.

"Kraków is recognized throughout the world as an authentic and charming historical city and as one of Europe's official cultural capitals. However, it is still to be discovered as the dream place for educational and business meetings like our conference. Kraków has a great location between the West and the East, traveling to this city has become easy and affordable with many direct flights, and its convention facilities have met international quality standards”, added Ms. Van Gaal.

The city's successful bid to host the INMA/OPA Europe conference was led by the Convention Bureau of the Municipality of Kraków and was supported by the Mayor, the Marshall of Malopolska Region, and the chief editors of newsmedia headquartered in Kraków: Dziennik Polski, Gazeta Krakowska, Gazeta Wyborcza Kraków, Interia.pl and RMF FM.

INMA and OPA Europe have chosen Krakow as the venue for this experience – a high-value, low-cost choice:

  • Inexpensive flights Krakow International Airport with many airlines across Europe.

  • A great hotel deal at the four-star Park Inn. Also the conference venue.

  • Discover the magic of Krakow now, before the rest of Europe discovers its beauty! one of the few cities in the world where the historic part is harmoniously combined and intertwined with the contemporary wealth of artists, business and social life. A huge part of the city is a Unesco World Heritage!

  • Experience a fascinating dinner on Thursday, also an Unesco World Heritage Place: the Saltmines of Wieliczka, near the Kraków metropolitan area. The mine was in continuous operation, producing table salt since the 13th century, until 2007. A dinner you will always remember with music and dance 125m under ground level.

Experience the fusion of practical, useful newsmedia case studies and the best of the emerging digital landscape at the INMA/OPA Outlook 2011 Conference on September 30 - October 1. Great programme, great partnership, great location!

*Brainsnacks
INMA was the first association to introduce Brainsnack sessions (at its Dutch/Flemish seminar in June 2009 and at the European conference in Liverpool): these 7 minutes presentations give participants many new ideas in a short time frame; which can then be questioned and further developed during the networking breaks.

Participants are encouraged to send in themes and suggestions for these presentations. The organizing committee picks the best.
