Paperview and INMA ink partnership agreement

DALLAS, USA (15 September 2004) – In a deal that promises to bring new energy to newspaper promotion and marketing worldwide, the International Newspaper Marketing Association (INMA) has signed a partnership agreement with Paperview, a Belgium-based organization specializing in marketing and promotion for newspapers. The one-year partnership supports various INMA conferences and activities in North America and Europe. The two organizations will also cooperate in specialized publications and projects that will make significant contributions to the newspaper industry.

“This is going to be a winning proposition for everybody involved, particularly newspapers that want to benefit from more robust promotion and marketing,” INMA Executive Director Earl J. Wilkinson said. “Paperview is doing some very interesting things in Europe and in North America, and when you combine that with the strength INMA already brings to the marketing and promotion of newspapers, you’re going to get the kind of fresh ideas and innovation that benefits everybody.”

“No matter what the geographic area, every newspaper needs effective and innovative marketing and promotion,” said Maximilian Weiner, President of Paperview. “However, they do not always have the time, resources, or expertise to address them internally. Paperview helps identify these needs and works with newspapers to provide turnkey solutions using value-added promotional tools. We’re anticipating great synergy with INMA, and the winners will be newspapers and their readers.”

The partnership will be in effect from September 2004 to September 2005. Founded in 1998, Paperview specializes in newspaper marketing and promotion. At present, it operates within the Benelux, France, the UK, and Germany and has recently launched its first campaign with a top ten newspaper in the US. It is also currently developing activities in Scandinavia and the Pacific Rim. Paperview focuses on increasing single-copy sales and total subscriptions, engaging and retaining existing subscribers and generating alternative revenue streams for its newspaper partners.

These objectives are met using specific promotional tools custom-designed by Paperview, based on a newspaper’s market, objectives and budget. These promotions include inserts/part works and their derivatives (audio CD's, DVD's, etc.), literature collections, DVD collections, thematic book collections, and special editions in magazine form. Paperview recently opened a New York City and UK office to develop specific solutions for the U.S. and UK newspaper markets. INMA is a non-profit membership association dedicated to promoting advanced marketing principles within the newspaper industry. INMA has more than 1,000 members in 68 countries.
