INMA members participated in a two-day tour of San Francisco and Silicon Valley prior to the start of the 84th INMA World Congress.

Lead by moderator Alan Mutter, San Francisco-area media consultant and a member of the journalism faculty at the University of Berkeley, 55 participants travelled on two charter buses to visit top companies such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter, and Matter, an innovative-business accelerator housed in a garage in downtown San Francisco.

The majority of these companies have 10% or less of the history of legacy publishers, so naturally questions were raised about how these companies are engaging audiences by the masses.
