Otto Sjöberg is president and founder of Media(r)evolution and consultant at WAN-Ifra with emerging digital platforms and business development. He has some 30 years experience in major media companies – with three of Sweden´s largest newspapers, the largest television network and leading online ventures. Among the more prominent achievements:
- Got into digital media in January 1997 when he was appointed Director of New Media at Aftonbladet that made online a separate business area. In January 1998 Aftonbladet New Media was profitable and has been so ever since.
- President of the startup TV4 Interactive in 1999, which today is the digital business area for TV4.
- During seven years, 2002-2008, publisher at Expressen, one of Sweden´s largest newspapers. He was recruited to Expressen in December 2001 when the newspaper was on the verge of closing down after losing 70 000 copies per day and hundreds of millions of Swedish kronor in revenues. Eight months later circulation was up (and continued growing for 24 straight months). And one year later Expressen turned profitable and has been so ever since.
- Until March 2011 Otto was CEO and developed a joint venture between TV4 and Expressen to explore business opportunities in mobile media.
