INMA today released to members two executive summaries of recent conferences that focused on engaging audiences via social media:

  • Social Media Strategies Summit: The San Diego event's key word was “engagement,” hinting at the growing importance of interaction and conversation with customers, as well as reflecting changing business strategies and mindsets.

  • Online Marketing Summit: Converting prospects into customers and advocates was the key focus of this Las Vegas summit. Heavy emphasis was on social media, local and mobile strategy, SEO and search, and how to integrate these elements into broader marketing plans.

These are the first of what we expect to be 15 reports on relevant conferences for INMA members in 2012. INMA has purposefully prioritised conferences outside the traditional newspaper/media industry for reports this year so we can infuse our staffs with the best and boldest ideas and concepts.
