INMA today launched the Global Innovation Award, a competition that rewards the best innovation programmes at media companies.
The deadline to submit entries is March 4, 2014, and can be done at www.inma.org/global-innovation-award.
The INMA Global Innovation Award is designed to shine a light on the emerging structured programmes aimed at encouraging innovation, business model transformation, and corporate culture change at media companies.
The award will be one of the news media industry’s first to bring transparency to initiatives sweeping the publishing world and driven by CEOs, human resources departments, corporate development departments, and innovation and transformation departments.
“We are witnessing today a birth of energy and enthusiasm surrounding programmes that encourage product, audience, and revenue ideation and incubation,” says Earl J. Wilkinson, executive director and CEO of INMA. “The Global Innovation Award will encourage culture change, help attract new multi-media talent, and lock in innovation mindsets for media companies.”
Participating media companies are asked to complete a one-page entry form and may submit an accompanying PowerPoint presentation that illustrates the innovation programme.
Five regional winners will be selected by a panel of judges, one each from Asia/Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Latin America, and North America/Caribbean.
The regional winners will be honoured at the INMA World Congress May 11-13 in San Francisco, where they will be invited to present their innovation programme case study. A global winner will be crowned at the conference’s closing awards dinner May 13.
