The newspaper industry needs to realize it's "time to put up or shut up." We've talked around systematic changes to circulation marketing for quite some time, and the time is now to stop talking and start acting.

The 2006 INMA Circulation Summit marks the seventh consecutive year in which the leading circulation executives from North America's leading newspapers have gathered to discuss the pressing issues facing the newspaper industry, but this year is the "call for action." The Scottsdale summit faces the facts head on -- and reflects on the serious implications should the industry fail to hear this call for action.

The Scottsdale Circulation Summit addresses two major issues facing the industry in reengineering circulation marketing processes:

  • The investment community's primary focus on short-term financial performance.

  • The feared short-term impact on audited circulation that might result in a change of the traditional model.

The common thread is "short-term." The unwillingness to make the necessary investments in products, processes, and infrastructure is a monumental impediment to the industry's long-term viability.

With a theme of "It's Time to Put Up or Shut Up," the Scottsdale Circulation Summit will rattle the cages of traditional circulation marketing and hopefully shake loose the short-term vision, and help build long-term success.

You are cordially invited to join INMA in Scottsdale January 26-27, 2006.
